Raiders sunk in Thursday battle with Carolina nine
Conway High School
CONWAY, S.C. (April 24, 2025) -- Rocky River continued its play in the South Atlantic Bank Invitational with a Thursday setback against Lewisville (South Carolina). The Lions scored in 5-of-7 innings and sunk the Pirates 9-4.

Lewisville scored a solo run in the top of the first inning and two runs in the second, and the Lions would lead the rest of the way. Their nine runs tied for the most River had yielded in a single game so far this season (nine vs. Normandy April 15). Rocky River (7-5) only had one run on the board until banging out four hits in a three-run bottom of the seventh.

Elliot Hibshman, Griffin Hill, and Dylan Kolonick all reached base in that seventh-inning rally, and all three finished the game with two hits. Hibshman has hit safely in eight straight games.

The Sons of Blackbeard, now 1-2 on the trip, are scheduled to close out their South Carolina swing Friday.
