ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (Oct. 24, 2024) -- Rocky River defeated Copley 3-0 Thursday, and with the victory the Pirates now advance to a DIII Northeast 4 District title match on Saturday.
The Pirates (13-3-2) got a Quentin Daily goal late in the first half and two Walid Tokhi markers in the second as they earned their third straight shutout win. Daily's lid-lifter came on a 10-yarder in traffic in the 37th minute. Tokhi's netfinders both came in the final 15 minutes of play.
The match-up at Rocky River Stadium pitted the DIII Region 9 10th-seeded Pirates and 34th-seeded Indians (4-13-1). River now moves on to face No. 2 Twinsburg on Saturday (Byers Field in Parma, 1 p.m. kickoff).
