Rocky River falls to Midview 5-4
RR Baseball
ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (April 3, 2025) -- Rocky River fell to the Midview Middies 5-4 in Thursday non-conference action at Rocky River Field.

The Middies (2-2) got all five of their runs in the third inning when they strung together five singles, a walk, and two Pirate errors. That was Midview's counter to River manufacturing a solo run in the bottom of the first. In a game controlled by the moundsmen on both sides, the only other scoring came in the home half of the fifth when the Buccaneers turned a leadoff double (Jackson Powe), two walks, and two errors into a three-run rally.

That fifth-inning outburst died with a runner in scoring position and Rocky River failed to generate a base runner over the final two innings.

Three Pirates pitched in on the day's mound work. Henry Tovissi started for River and went two frames, allowing five runs (four earned) and four hits and two walks. Griffin Hill (three innings) and Rees Heigle (two) combined to twirl five scoreless innings after that.

Three Midview hurlers conspired to hold the home nine to just three hits. Rocky River went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
