Rocky River Board of Education Announces New Superintendent
February 28, 2025

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Rocky River City School District Board of Education is pleased to announce that Adham Schirg has been selected as the next superintendent of Rocky River City Schools, pending board approval. Schirg, who currently serves as superintendent of Fairbanks Local Schools in Milford Center, Ohio, will officially begin his role on August 1, 2025.

During his six-year tenure at Fairbanks Local Schools, Schirg worked closely with a dedicated community of students, staff, and families, playing a key role in guiding the district's strategic direction. His deep commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment has been instrumental in shaping the culture and achievements of the district. This approach not only enhanced the educational experience but also created a sense of unity and shared purpose among the community.

Schirg’s leadership style and the values he embodied at Fairbanks Local Schools resonate strongly with the leadership characteristics identified by the Rocky River City School District residents, parents, and staff, during the recent community engagement process. The community desired a leader who could model behaviors to build a collaborative and supportive culture. His proven track record in these areas made him an outstanding candidate for the superintendent position at Rocky River.

“I am honored to join the Rocky River City School District and excited to build upon its strong tradition of excellence,” said Schirg. “I look forward to working alongside students, staff, families, and the community to continue fostering an environment where every learner can thrive.”

The Rocky River Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting on March 5 at 6:00 PM to approve Schirg’s superintendent contract. A welcome reception will follow until 8:00 PM in the PD Center, where staff, families, and community members will have the opportunity to meet him.

“We deeply appreciate the input from students, staff, families, and community members throughout this process,” said Board President Kelly Rucker Frindt. “Their voices helped ensure we selected a leader who will respect our district’s traditions while continuing to move us forward. Adham Schirg brings the leadership, collaboration, and vision that will serve our students and schools well, and we are excited to welcome him to the Rocky River community.” Through this collaborative effort, the Board believes it has selected an outstanding leader who will benefit students, families, and the entire community.

Further details on transition planning will be shared in the coming months.
