ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Ohio Middle Level Association (OMLA) Northeast Region held its annual Breakfast of Champions on March 6 to honor student leaders from the area who display the characteristics of leadership, scholarship, service and character.
Rocky River Middle School had two eighth grade students – Olivia Schutte and Brendan Smith – recognized during the program. Schutte received the Scholarship Award, while Smith received the Character Award. The duo was nominated by RRMS teacher Cara Ungar.
Schutte’s nomination noted that she is a great representation of Rocky River Middle School, participating in band, volleyball, softball and several other clubs. She has distinguished herself among her peers through the amount of effort and dedication that she brings to the RRMS classrooms. Olivia is a model student who cares about school and values her education.
Smith’s nomination stated that he is well-regarded by classmates at RRMS. He is hard-working in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities. Brendan comes to school each day with a positive attitude, is welcome and encouraging to everyone and takes the initiative to help others in a variety of ways.
