ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Third graders at Kensington Intermediate School once again received a special gift from the Rotary Club of Lakewood and Rocky River. Continuing with its annual tradition of honoring its commitment to literacy in schools, the Rotary Club presented each third grader with a dictionary. Members of the Rotary Club stamped each dictionary with the Rotary logo and a place for the student names.
Students and teachers were very appreciative of the dictionaries, which feature a number of different sections, including more than 30,000 words with simple, child-friendly definitions and pronunciations, weights and measures, Roman numerals, a map of the United States, the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, short bios of all U.S. Presidents and the longest word in the English language.
The Rotary Club began this project in 2005.
Thank you, Rotarians!
