FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio (Sept. 25, 2024) -- Rocky River lost for just a second time this season -- and just the third time over the last two autumns -- as the Pirates fell to North Royalton in a Wednesday home match at Big Met Golf Course.
River carded four scores at 43-or-better, but the Pirates were undone by a strong Bears squad that went lower still. Paced by a 38 fired by Zach Horiba and a 39 from Lucas Stringer, North Royalton defeated Rocky River 158-160.
The Swinging Corsairs' counters were logged by Finn Potts (37), Caden Lawrence (39), Nolan Toole (41), and Dom Ricketti (43).
The match, which marked Senior Day for the Double-R program, was contested over the inward nine at Big Met. Ricketti and fellow Pirate Greybeards Landon Barnes and Max Lehmann were honored in a post-match ceremony.
The event in the valley closed out the regular season for Rocky River (7-2). Up next for the Pirates is sectional tournament play. The Maroon & White will compete at Grey Hawk Golf Club Monday.
