Seven RRHS Students Named 2024 College Board National Recognition Program Scholars

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Seven Rocky River High School students have received academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Program for 2024. These programs celebrate students' hard work in high school and showcase their strong academic performances.
 
Listed below are this year’s recipients from RRHS:
 
  • Sarah Knox, First Generation Recognition Award
  • William Lucic, First Generation Recognition Award
  • Koreen Manja, First Generation Recognition Award
  • Ayad Mehulic, First Generation Recognition Award
  • Caroline Miller, National Hispanic Recognition Award
  • Dulce Pfeifer, National Hispanic Recognition Award, National Indigenous Recognition Award
  • Turner Strickland, National African American Recognition Award
 
These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them meaningfully connect to colleges and stand out during the admissions process. 
 
The criteria for eligible students include:
  • GPA of 3.3 or higher.
  • Score in the top 10-percent of test takers in the state on PSAT/NMSQT taken in 10th or 11th grade.
  • Earn a score of 3+ on two or more AP exams taken in 9th and/or 10th grade.
  • Identify as First Generation, African American/Black, Hispanic American/Latino, or Indigenous/Native.
 
Eligible students are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year and are awarded at the start of the next school year in time to share their achievements in high school as they plan for the future.
