Kensington Holds Annual Spelling Bee

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Kensington Intermediate School held its annual Spelling Bee for all grade levels on Wednesday, December 14. 

 

The top-22 spellers in fifth grade kicked things off with Henry Kulesza taking first place and Maggie Galla finishing as the runner-up. Third grade was next and featured 19 students with Henry Spurlock earning first place and Aleksander Niemojewski finishing in second place. The duo repeated as the champion and runner-up from last year in second grade.

 

In the final competition of the day, fourth grader Ben Church captured first place among the 18 fourth grade competitors, while Anastasia Lutz was the runner-up.

 

The competition in every grade level was extremely competitive as students completed the entire list of school spelling bee words that are published by the Scripps National Spelling Bee before moving to a second list of words
