ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - The Rocky River High School and Rocky River Middle School Team Unify program hosted a Unified Basketball Tournament on Friday, January 27, with seven schools competing.
Teams that joined Rocky River included Avon, John Marshall, Lakewood (2 teams), Lincoln West and Max Hays.
The event began with RRHS a cappella group Chromatix singing the National Anthem and continued with each team playing four games throughout the morning.
Team Unify promotes social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences as Unified Sports joins students with and without disabilities on the same team. It is inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
