ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Goldwood Primary School (GPS) hosted a Lunch with a Loved Ones event for its kindergarten, first and second grade students this week when a parent/guardian, family member or a loved one were invited to GPS to enjoy lunch and recess with their child.
The event was broken down into three days with second graders welcoming their special guests on October 24, first graders having lunch with their guests on October 25 and kindergarten students inviting their guests on October 26. There was even a make-up day on October 27 that was reserved for those who were unable to make the grade-level times.
Parents and special guests had to RSVP for the lunch, which allowed the GPS teachers and staff to finalize plans for the event.
The Goldwood families responded with excitement each day, showcasing the supportive school community. More than 98-percent of the students had a loved one attend and special plans were made for any student who was unable to have a visitor. Teachers and staff also walked around during lunch and recess to meet families.
