Commencement Information for Class of 2023

On August 22, RRHS students in the Class of 2023 and parents/guardians of students in the Class of 2023 were sent a survey to consider a change of date for Commencement. The survey was sent in response to input we have received from parents/guardians, students, and staff asking for consideration to change the date of Commencement.

We received 221 responses to the survey which asked:

• Would you support changing the date of Commencement from Friday, June 9, 2023 to Sunday, June 4, 2023?
  1. Yes, change the date to Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 1:00pm
  2. No, keep the original date of Friday, June 9, 2023 at 7:00pm
  3. Other

Results of the survey are listed below:

• 75.1% - Yes, change the date to Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 1:00pm
• 22.6% - No, keep the original date of Friday, June 9, 2023 at 7:00pm
• 2.3% - Other (Write-in responses)

As a result, Commencement for the Class of 2023 will take place on SUNDAY, JUNE 4, 2023, at 1:00pm in the Rocky River High School stadium.

Of note:

• The Last Day for Seniors will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
• The Senior Picnic will be held on May 31, 2023, in RRHS Stadium at 12:00 pm.
• Commencement practice will take place on June 2, 2023 in RRHS Stadium at 10:00 am.
• Rain date(s) for Commencement will continue to be the next day.
• If a rain date is needed, the start time will change to 7:00pm on Monday, June 5, 2023. If a second rain date is needed, Commencement will take place on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 7:00pm, and so on.
• Details about date, time and location of Baccalaureate will be announced at a later date.
