ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – In October, eighth graders in American History classes at Rocky River Middle School (RRMS) participated in The Patriot's Pen, a national essay contest titled sponsored by the VFW.
Seventeen RRMS students were recognized for their participation in the competition, including three students who placed in the top-three.
Earning first place in the competition was Sinead McKenna, while Nick Thozeski placed second and Grace Uline was in third place.
In addition, RRMS students Angelina Cini, Lily Creech, Angelo Fiutem, Flynn Gerfen, Michael Mackow, Lisa Modeste, Spiro Panozaqi, Tyler Park, Gavin Steiner, Teodora Toma, Grace Ward, Andrew Wenzinger, Lola Weston and Emma Yezbak had their essays selected for the district competition.
Congratulations to all 17 students for achieving this recognition VFW for sponsoring the project again this year.
