Double-R downs Rockets in Tuesday LEGGA action

RR Girls' Golf

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio -- The Pirates earned a second Lake Erie Girls' Golf Association home win in as many days with a 201-215 victory over Bay Tuesday at Big Met Golf Course.

Chloe Holton (49), Kate McKeown (50), Racehl Baird (51), Mia Ginnetti (51) provided a tightly packed quartet on the River score sheet. Their combined 201 tally on the front nine at Big Met bested the Rockets (215) by 14 strokes on a warm, sunny afternoon in the valley.

Holton played the middle three holes (No. 4, 5, and 6) in level-par, which helped her card the only sub-50 round among a combined 12 players on both sides.

Playing along the banks of the the body of water that gives the school its name has agreed with the Pirates. Rocky River (6-5, 6-3 LEGGA) scored a 205 in a Big Met win over North Olmsted on Monday. The Maroon & White have won three in a row at home since dropping a Sept. 1 match to Westlake.
