ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- The Pirates netted a season-high eight goals, as Rocky River defeated Elyria Catholic, 8-0, Wednesday.

Charlie Russell and Gold Rrustemaj each scored twice each in a contest that marked the opening of Great Lakes Conference West Division play. The Pirates (4-1-3, 1-0 GLC West) also got goals from Hogan Kern, Jack Maher, Jack Bowers, and Stephen Cain. Cain and Rrustemaj each carded two assists.

The shutout marked River's sixth of the season.

Rocky River is slated to host Lexington in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon (1 p.m.).
