ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Rocky River High School senior Nadine El Dabh will participate in the 2019 National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-National Honor Ensembles (ANHE) at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, from November 7-10.
The ANHE is a comprehensive educational experience, featuring
the top performing high school musicians in the United States. El Dabh is one of just 240 vocalists selected throughout the country and one of 12 from Ohio who will take part in the Mixed Choir Ensemble.
During
her time in Orlando, El Dabh will rehearse with other students from around the
country who have been selected for the prestigious event and perform with the
Mixed Choir Ensemble on Saturday, November 9 under the direction of Tesfa
Wondermagegnehu.
In
addition to Mixed Choir, the ANHE consists of a Concert Band, Symphony
Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble and Modern Band.
The
Jazz Ensemble, Mixed Choir, Guitar Ensemble, and Modern Band concerts will take
place on Saturday, November 9 from 7:00pm-10:00pm. The Symphony Orchestra and
Concert Band concerts will begin at 9:30am on Sunday, November 10.
NAfME is among the world’s largest arts education organizations and addresses all aspects of music education. NAfME advocates at the local, state, and national levels; provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators; hosts professional development events; and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers.
