ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Rocky River High School and Rocky River Middle School Team Unify program hosted a Unified Basketball Tournament on Thursday, February 13, with 10 schools competing.
Teams that joined Rocky River included Amherst, Avon, Avon Lake, John Marshall, Lincoln West, Lorain, Max Hayes, North Ridgeville, and Olmsted Falls.
Team Unify promotes social inclusion
through shared sports training and competition experiences as Unified Sports
joins students with and without disabilities on the same team. It is inspired
by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path
to friendship and understanding.
Members of the RRHS Exceptional Students Unlimited Club served as team hosts for the visiting schools.
All games were 20 minutes long consisting of two, 10-minute halves.
