When winter weather affects our schools, keeping students safe is our top priority. If school is closed, families will be notified through School Messenger, our RRCS website and social media, and local TV and radio stations. How We Decide
Deciding to close schools due to weather is never easy. Our team looks at multiple factors, with student safety always coming first. Our goal is to let families know by 6:00 a.m. whenever possible.

What Families Should Know:

• Rocky River does not use delayed starts.

• Schools will not close early for bad weather.

• If school is closed:

  • Evening events at RRHS will be decided by 1:00 p.m.

  • Elementary and middle school events will be cancelled.

• If schools are closed, transportation to non-public or out-of-district schools will not be provided.
