Criteria for Induction:Alex participated in both soccer and track and field in high school. He was a four-year letter winner in soccer and captained the soccer team in his senior year. Alex was selected All-Ohio Soccer in 1971, 1972 and 1973. He was also selected All-american in soccer in 1973. After graduating from high school, Alex attended Cleveland State University where he continued his outstanding soccer career. He was again selected All-American in 1977. After his college career, Alex played professional soccer in the NASL for the Minnesota Kicks and the Memphis Rogues. He also played in the AASL soccer league for the Cleveland Cobras.
In addition to his soccer accomplishments, Alex was an outstanding track and field performer at Rocky River High School. He participated in the pole vault and high jump and continues to hold school records in both of these events.
