Filler Earns Spot in Finals of Tri-C High School Rock-Off

Filler, an alternative rock band consisting of Rocky River and Bay High School students, has earned a spot in the “Final Exam” round of the 2018 Tri-C High School Rock Off.  They are one of 12 bands competing for the top prize on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 6 pm at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

The members of Filler are: Cameron Morris, vocalist, junior at Rocky River HS; William Ridzon, lead guitar, senior at Rocky River, HS; Joe Greenfield, bass, senior at Rocky River HS; and Auden Stevenson, drums, junior at Bay Village HS. Filler played a 4-song set covering “She’s Not There” (Carlos Santana), “Paranoid” (Black Sabbath) and “Victorious” (Wolfmother) and performing original song “Sunset.”  Their music can be heard on SoundCloud at https://soundcloud.com/thebandfiller.

“We are really excited to play again in the next round, and play with more great bands that love music as much as we do,” said Ridzon.

Filler earned a spot in the finals during the third preliminary round on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Rock Hall.  Fifty-one bands qualified for the Rock Off, and were assigned to compete against other bands in one of four preliminary rounds.  Three bands were selected from each round to play in the finals on Feb. 17, called the “Final Exam.”  The top band or artist will receive $1,000 in cash and $250 for their high school music program, along with opportunities to record and perform.
