KIS Named a Cleveland Clinic Banner School
Rocky River’s Kensington Intermediate School was named a 2017-18 Cleveland Clinic Banner School. The award recognizes the school’s noteworthy success in leveraging community resources to advance student learning.

Fewer than 30 percent of the 179 schools in four states that participate in the Cleveland Clinic Civic Education Department’s programming received this recognition.

Coordinator of Gifted Services K-5 Meredith Muccio was singled out for her implementation of the Dangerous Decibels program, which teaches fourth and fifth graders the concepts of noise-induced hearing loss prevention.  Through the program, students explore the science of sound, the way it travels, and how they can protect their hearing. Cleveland Clinic recognized Muccio for demonstrating “an exceptional commitment to student enrichment.”

The school received a banner for display.
