RRHS Marching Band Trailer

The keys to the new Rocky River High School Marching Band Trailer were presented to Board of Education member Dr. Jon Fancher by Trailer Project Chairman, Mr. Jim Spallino, at the football game on Friday night.

This beautiful 30-foot trailer allows all of the equipment of the 192-member Rocky River High School Marching Band to be transported safely and securely in one vehicle. The Trailer is the result of a full year’s worth of effort from the concept, through fundraising, the overall design and build, the interior design and build, the delivery, and the tow vehicle.

Band Director Taylor is pleased and grateful that this opportunity came on behalf of “a fantastic group of community members, corporations, and parents,” he says.

The Rocky River High School Bands acknowledged and thanked the Director Level sponsors at the football game. These sponsors played a huge role in helping make the trailer project a reality:

The Taylor Family

The Summers Family

The Bandi Family

First Federal of Lakewood

Greg Allen Builders

The Rocky River Education Foundation

Sunnyside Chevrolet (Sunnyside Chevrolet is currently sponsoring the truck that pulls the trailer.)

Thanks were also given to all of the donors at the Section Leader, Squad Leader/Pom and Flag Captain, Marching Letterman and Marcher sponsorship levels. The trailer project was 100% funded through private and corporate donations. A listing of all of the sponsors are available on the Rocky River Band website.

The Band also extended a sincere thank you to the Trailer Project Chairman, Mr. Jim Spallino, who worked with a fantastic group of community members, corporations, and parents.

With the new trailer comes new music for the marching band, which is using a “night to day” theme for its festival show. Taylor is combining many tunes the band already owned, like “Moondance” and “Daydream Believer,” with brand new ones, like the still-popular pop song “Pompeii,” which is the band’s pre-game number.

Rocky River’s Homecoming will premiere all-new music for the band. The show features the theme of popular music from Broadway and movies. Fans will get to hear their favorite local marching band perform hits from Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia!, and Les Miserables.

And when the band takes its show on the road, they will do so in style, thanks to some serious fundraising and generous donors.
