AFS Host Families Needed

AFS is looking for 1-2 host families for international students for the 2015-16 school year. These students will arrive in mid-August and stay with a host family for the duration of the school year, returning home mid-June.
Meet Riko, a 16 year old girl from Japan. Riko is at the top of her class and very much likes history, musicals, cooking, and track and field, though she has put track and field on hold for now so she could join the shogi- or Japanese chess- club. She is interested in all aspects of American life and looks forward to how experiencing another culture will broaden her perspective.

Meet Pablo, a 15 year old boy from Spain. He's a dedicated student and earns good grades and the respect of teachers and peers. He is also a dedicated athlete; he and friends are on a basketball team and train three days a week, and play games on weekends. When not busy with school and basketball, Pablo is usually with his family; he has many cousins and his family visits his grandparents at least once a month. He is excited to be an AFSer like his brother before him and his host sister from the USA.

If you are interested in hosting a student such as Riko or Pablo or would like to know more about the other students who are awaiting family placements, please contact Andrea Reynolds, RRHS Spanish teacher and AFS/ Foreign Exchange Advisor.
