Bridge to the World Program Hosts Spanish Students
Fifteen students, along with the principal and a counselor, from Federico Garcia Lorca High School in Madrid, Spain, visited Rocky River from April 1-8. Part of the Bridge to the World Program, Rocky River High School has partnered with schools in Spain, Germany, South Africa and China. This was the first exchange between RRHS and it's partner school in Spain.
Students from Spain stayed with students from Rocky River and experienced what it was like to live and attend school in the United States. The group also traveled to Niagara Falls, attended a Cavs game, and were able to partake in authentic American experiences such as eating at Soklowski's, sampling food at the Westside Market and taking pictures at the top of Terminal Tower.
In June, RRHS students will travel to Madrid and stay with their host friends as the second part of the exchange program. This was a great experience for our students and many of them have already formed life-long bonds with their Spanish counterparts.
