Keeping parents informed is a top priority at the Rocky River
City School District. That is why
we have adopted the AlertNow Notification Service that will allow us to send a
telephone or email message to parents providing important information about emergencies
or school events. In the event of an emergency at school parents will be
informed immediately by phone. The
email notification service will allow us to reduce paper and mailing costs and
ensure that necessary information reaches our parents. AlertNow has an online parent portal, AlertNow
Access, which will allow parents to choose which contact numbers and email
addresses for the system to use.

Telephone messages
will be used for school cancellations or for emergencies.

Email messages
will be used to notify parents about events such as report card distribution,
open house, conferences, and to distribute items such as school newsletters.
To make the most
effective use of this service, it is important to have an email address for
each family. Please submit your email address on the Emergency Authorization Form that you complete at the beginning of the school year.
AlertNow Access Parent Portal
AlertNow has an online parent portal, AlertNow Access, which allows parents to add and customize the phone numbers and email addresses in their account.
This online parent portal will allow you to choose which contact numbers and email addresses you wish to have our notification system use.
To set your initial password, please visit https://alertnowaccess.com/RequestPasswordReset.aspx. Enter your email address (this must be the same email that you put on your child's Emergency Authorization Form at the beginning of the school year) and click "Request Password Reset." You will receive another email message that contains a link. Click that link and enter your new password in the field provided.
Please note that any phone numbers or email addresses entered into AlertNow Access are not automatically changed in our student information system. You will still need to let your child’s school know of changes for your primary phone number and primary email address.
