Gold Spike Winner

Each week a gold spike is awarded at the Thursday team dinner.  The Gold Spike is awarded to the runner who had a courageous race.  This could include tough weather, coming back from an injury, running a PR, or helping the team or a teammate.


West Shore Conference Preview  
Senior and 4 year runner Anne Swartz earned the gold spike this week.  Anne came into this season ready to run and her time show that she is ready to be a Varsity member of this team!  Anne ran a career PR at this race and finished 5th for Varsity.  Congrats Anne!

Avon Lake Early Bird 
Freshman and first year runner Clara Sandu  wins the gold spike this week.  Clara placed 5th in the JV race with a time of 22:44, a career PR and, which put her tied for the #5 spot on Varsity.  She earns a Varsity point this week and gets to run in the Varsity race next weekend at Tiffin.  Way to go Clara!

Tiffin Carnival 
Junior and third year runner Emma Russ!  Emma her best race of the season!  She looked strong and ran over 3 minutes faster than last week!  Way to go Emma!  Keep up the great work!!
 
Villa-Angela St Joes McDonough Invitational 
Freshman and first year runner Terri Sack!  Terri had a fantastic race - running hard and finishing 3rd for River.  She ran a career PR of 21:35!  Terri always gives 100% of herself in practice and strives to be the best she can be all the time!  Keep up the great work Terri!

Strongsville Invitational 
 Freshman Chloe Bierut.  She had a fantastic race running a personal best again for the second week in a row on a soft course!  Chloe is really starting to understand racing a 5k and attacking the race!  Keep up the great work!

Gilmour Invitational 
Senior and co-captain Anna Eversman.  Anna comes to every practice and leads the girls in stretches and CORE.  She comes to every meet with a positive attitude!  She also takes pictures at every meet.  Although this season did not turn out how she had planned, she is making the best of it by setting a great example!

Medina Invitational
Freshmen Elise Pichola. Elise came into the season with a great attitude and ready to work! She is very coachable listens well.  She is always looking to improve.  At Medina Elise had a fantastic race and was the #3 on Varsity for the day!  Keep up the great work Elise!!

WSC Championship
Sophomore and first year runner Ceara O'Connor.  Ceara came into the season not really fully understanding the sport of cross country and the running involved.  She progressed slowly week to week getting a little faster each week.  At her final race of the season she ran a career PR by 3 minutes from the previous week! Nice job Ceara!
